The Department for Education had strengthened its rules regarding children’s unexplained absences from school.
If your child is staying at home unwell, or is absent from school without authorisation for any other reason, please email or ring the school first thing in the morning to notify the School Office by 8.45a.m.
If the School has not been contacted by 10.00 a.m., we have to contact parents and, if necessary, take further action which may include contacting the local authority team or the police.
We are also required to contact the local authority team if we are concerned about a child’s level of attendance, so with this in mind as well as the disruption to their education, we would once again discourage taking holidays during term time.
