Healthy and sustainable eating is important to us and we work hard to ensure that we offer our pupils a varied and nutritionally sound menu for their lunches. Each day, in addition to our hot menu option, the children and staff are offered a range of fresh salads, fruits and cheese and crackers.

Vines fruiterers at The Vineyards bring us fresh produce every day which is bought from the fruit and vegetable markets in London every morning.  Our meat comes from Hepburns, an award winning butchers based in Brentwood.

Our chef, Rupert Eley leads a wonderful team of kitchen staff, Mrs Cheryl Cloake, Miss Michelle Zahl, Mrs Aimee Crook, Mrs Joanne Lee, Miss Jessica Hughes and Mrs Lynda Binks. We are sad to see Mrs Binks leaving us when she retires at the end of this term: she has been with us for 20 years!

Our kitchen staff cook our lunches fresh each day and cater for a multitude of dietary needs and preferences.  Specifically, we have reduced over time the quantity of processed meat served to the children, with sausages now typically only offered once per half term for example. The rice we use is 50/50 white and wholemeal and we are about to start the same for pasta.  Rainbow colours are always available through the vegetables, salad bar and fruit on offer every day.

We are so lucky to have Cheryl who makes and bakes all of the desserts and cakes and she is very health conscious so is trying out new recipes on staff too before we offer them to the children!
