Widford Lodge Orchestra and Senior Choir competed in the Chelmsford Music Festival at St Cedds School on Friday 8th November. The Orchestra played “Jingle Pizzicato” and “Silent Night” and were awarded 82 points gaining a merit. The adjudicator wrote ‘The big sound you make when you all play together is fabulous, well done’ and ‘it was good to see you all working as a team’. Other ensembles in the class were a double reed group and a Guitar ensemble which played “Scarborough Fair”.
Senior Choir sang “As Long as I have Music” by Besig and “We want to Sing” by Emerson. They were awarded 86 points which gained them a distinction, placing them 2nd in the class. The adjudicators thought the choir created ‘a pure tone with lovely diction, it was great to be able to hear every word’ and well done to the soloists (Nathaniel H and Ava B) at the opening’.
We think everyone performed really well.
