There was a carnival atmosphere at school recently when Marc Cecil, a professional drummer and percussionist, visited the school to run a series of samba workshops for Form 1 upwards.
He created a fun and exciting learning environment for the children who took turns to perform on each of the various traditional Brazilian instruments.
Rhythms were absorbed remarkably easily with the help of words and phrases to match the patterns and the children were clearly delighted with the explosive sounds created by all the instruments playing together.
