Recently, Form 6 were very lucky to attend the Essex Schools Food and Farming Day held at Writtle University College – in fact, you may have seen some of them on Anglia News!
This is a huge event with over 3000 primary school pupils attending and so much for them to see and learn.
Pupils enjoyed the Food and Animal zones as well as the demonstration of farm machinery including huge combine harvesters! The aim of the day is for children to find out more about how food is produced and the role played by farmers: one of our farm stewards for the day was an ex-Widford parent Jane Parrish, thank you to her and to the Writtle team for a really interesting day.
