On Tuesday 2nd October, years 5 and 6 Hockey Club went to watch the England men’s hockey practice match against Belgium at the Olympic Park. Everyone who was there couldn’t believe the standard. Both of the teams worked so hard. England scored the first goal in the first quarter, then in the same quarter Belgium scored, to make it 1-1.

It was all very tense, in the third quarter Belgium scored another goal, to make it 2-1.

It was a very exciting last quarter as England managed to score another goal with under 4 minutes left of the match.  Straight after this goal Belgium scored again, ending the match with Belgium winning 3-2!

At the end, they did a penalty shoot-out. England managed to score 2 out of 5 and Belgium scored 3 out of 5. When the match had finished, both teams were very generous and gave out lots of autographs. Thank you to Miss Devitt for organising one of the best trips ever!
