Recently the School Council invited our neighbours from Widford Road, Widford Grove and Links Drive into school for coffee and cake.

The neighbours were greeted by the School Council members and taken on a tour of the school.  Most neighbours had never been inside the school and were delighted to see what was beyond the hedge.  It was ‘Activities Time’ so the neighbours saw Samba Band in action, children cooking with Mr Rupert, sports activities and normal lessons in the Pre-Prep going on.  After their tours, the neighbours had an afternoon tea in the hall and were entertained by our musicians, Amelia (violin), Milo (saxophone) and Alex (piano).

One neighbour, who had lived in Widford Road for 55 years, reminisced about seeing the young boarders walking in twos up Widford Road each weekend to spend their pocket money at Skelly’s corner shop.  Everyone had a lovely afternoon and were very complimentary of the children and school.

Thank you to the School Councillors and musicians for being wonderful ambassadors for the school.
