Recently, James Davy, musical director of Chelmsford Cathedral visited Widford to meet Junior Chamber Choir and Senior Choir. Mr Davy worked with the children singing songs and musical games and informing them about the cathedral choirs.

Opportunities exist for both girls and boys at the Cathedral. Chelmsford Cathedral choir sing at five services a week in the stunning setting of Chelmsford Cathedral. Joining the choir is free, all training is provided, including singing lessons, and choristers receive termly pocket money. It is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy free musical training and gives performance experience. Being part of the choir also help children boost numeracy, literacy and social skills.

The Cathedral is holding a ‘Chorister Open Afternoon’ on Saturday 1st Feb for boys aged 6-10. The day includes singing games and musical activities and finishes with a sung service at 5.15 p.m.
